Proto-max!

This was a class project that we all worked on. The script was written by one of our students and chosen by the class. We all had roles and worked together just like a real production, and filmed with an Aaton 16mm film camera. I was one of two directors of photography, and I worked closely with the second director to plan the shots for our half of the short film (after the beginning dining room scene) then operated the camera. It was really neat to use a film camera.
This short film was screened at Silverwave Film Festival 2022.

Kiwolatomuhsis

This was a class project for Media Production 3000 where 3 people worked together to produce a short film. It was written and directed by Asha Bear, I did the cinematography and editing the final cut, and Ellie Bidgood did the rough cut and helped behind the scenes. The class focused on what it takes to produce a film and had hard deadlines for parts of production. This short film was screened at Silverwave Film Festival 2023.

For the Next One

My first feature-length film. A documentary about internships and experiential learning in learning film. All of the subjects either interned with Frictive, or participated in their programs. One interesting thing I learned while researching is that this style of teaching film only started recently in this generation. The two previous generations of filmmakers I talked to did not have these opportunities, but facilitated them instead. I hope it is something that continues. My subjects had a lot of overlapping experiences which was unplanned and very interesting. I think it goes to show how much the local community wants to help local filmmakers.

A Man and his Cat

This was a 2 person project which was filmed on a Samsung Galaxy S21 for a Lens Media class. The camera's stabilizer was very effective for filming free-hand. The purpose of the project was to add a twist ending which we pulled off with some slight of hand and camera angles.

A Text From Hubby

I filmed this on a Bolex 16mm celluloid film camera in a small group project for my second film production class. The class normally has script writing circles, but unfortunately because of restrictions the class had to choose from scripts written by a previous class which I think we made the best of with no budget.

Spy Hunt

This was the final class project for my first film production class where we had to prepare a short script and film it. It is the sequel to a previous project we did in the class. I filmed this with a Canon EOS Rebel T7 on a shoulder mount and edited it in Premiere.

The Drop

This was a short project our group did as a noire theme. I filmed this with a Canon EOS Rebel T7 on a tripod and edited it in Premiere.
